Resolve a security issue to continue processing - Action required on Stripe

What to do when Stripe says that you passed a customer's full credit card number to the Stripe API.

Checkify + Stripe customers may receive an automated mailing from the payment processor, asking to look into a security issue and warning that charges that include full card numbers will not be processed.

The snapshot of such an email (English version) is shown below. It can be in various languages, depending on your Stripe settings.

This article describes a solution that can be implemented in several clicks and will ensure compliant and risk-free operation for all the sides involved.

Make sure you are logged in to your Stripe account and visit the section on PCI compliance https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/compliance

NOTE: Stripe may change its interface, so the steps below may not necessarily depict the actual interface you are going to see. We keep track of global and fundamental changes only.

It is required to complete and get SAQ type A document.

In order to do that simply proceed with a brief survey.

Tick "Yes" two times and press "Generate".

Stripe will take some time to evaluate the submission. Once successful, you will see a status change.

The document called "Self-Assessment Questionnaire A and Attestation of Compliance" will also be available for download. It is valid for one year.

So, as you see, the certification is free and fast. The rest is be done and taken care of by Stripe. The emails with the warning will stop.
