SMSBump is a marketing and automations app that helps you send cart recovery SMS and MMS to your customers to remind them them about finalizing their purchase.

Setting up SMSBump on Checkify

To set up SMSBump on Checkify, first, create an SMSBump account, choose your subscription plan, and add SMSBump app to your store.

Then get the App Key and the Secret Key from your Yotpo SMSBump account:

You can simply copy the App Key. For getting the Secret Key, click the "Get secret key" button first, then paste the code (you should be receiving it via email). Once the code is submitted, it will be possible to copy your Secret Key.

Also, for connection, you will need to create or to use an existing List (only the List, not the Segment!) for collecting subscribers.

  1. In SMSBump, navigate to Lists & Segments.

    2. Next to the relevant list, click View. The List ID is displayed at the end of the page URL.

Example: If the URL is https://smsbump.yotpo.com/sms/lists-segments/view/4790768, then the List ID is 4790768.

Once you have your List ID, App Key and Secret Key, go through the following steps:

  1. Click on "Connect +" button within the appropriate tab to start the integration

  2. Paste your App Key, Secret Key and List ID

  3. Click on "Connect +"

  4. The SMSBump integration becomes Active

Setting up an Abandoned Cart Automation

Recover lost sales by launching an automation sequence using the SMSBump automation feature. Checkify will be sending only the phone number (without the URL of a checkout page). It will work only if buyers add it on the checkout page and if the checkbox "Sign up for exclusive offers and news" under the Shipping Details section is selected.

ATTENTION: You can find "Preselect the marketing opt-in" in Customization section.

You can create a recovery flow for mobile phone numbers which got into the list, if such a customer has not created an order in the next, for example, 20 or 30 minutes.

Otherwise, the customer gets an SMS immediately, which is usually bad. You may learn more SMSBump best practices on their blog, or on thematic forums across the web.
