Learn how you can enable currency conversion function on Checkify.

Updated over a week ago

Customization options allow you to change the look of your checkout page to fit your store's brand perfectly.

  • Currency Conversion Function: Display of the total value of the order additionally in buyer's local currency. The conversion will take place automatically.

If you like the total value of the order to be also displayed and estimated in real-time in your buyer's local currency, then you can enable this option for achieving maximum consistency for the offer. The example (desktop version of the checkout) is given below:

ATTENTION: It is highly recommended to keep the dynamic buttons (elements) by Shopify Payments off, as described here. Our custom checkout supports all kinds of express payment buttons.

If you use Markets and have already activated the display of different currencies there, then, upon landing on the custom checkout page, a conversion into the primary (default) currency of the store will take place, based on the rate actual at the moment of checkout being formed.

❓ FAQ ❓

πŸ™‹ Your currency convertor does not work. There is a mix up: buyers see 30 GBP on the store, which turn into 30 USD on the checkout page.

Start with checking the default currency of your store in Shopify settings: make sure it matches your core geo. Example: you sell to the UK, mostly. Then it should be GBP not USD in your store's settings.

If you have third-party apps (converters) installed on a Shopify store, please make sure to activate our native currency conversion (order value estimation) function, as described above.

πŸ™‹ I want to show only one amount (value) to my buyers on the checkout.

It will be so if their local currency (auto-detected and set based on the IP address) matches the store's currency. Otherwise, two values will be presented. There is no option to hide one of them for the sake of clarity, consistency and compliance.

πŸ™‹ I am an American Shopify business, with the default currency of my store USD. The majority of my buyers are from Sweden. Can I show them only SEK at your checkout, without the main currency $ (USD) always present?

Please update the default currency of your store and set it to the desired one. Once the change is applied, the buyers will be getting the price with SEK. Note that this change will affect our dashboard and lead to some temporary mix up: orders before the change will be in one currency, new orders, after such a change, will be in another. So keep this in mind when viewing the analytics.
