Get the maximum of your Snapchat ad campaigns. Reach a huge share of millennials and Gen Z effectively.

Updated this week

With close to 450 million users worldwide by the end of 2024, Snapchat may be a correct instrument to find new buyers, especially within 16-35 age group. Snapchat analytics helps target correct audiences and boosts your online sales. Checkify ensures a smooth Snap Pixel and Conversions API integration to provide accurate checkout and Thank You page events information.

In this article:

1. Setting up Snap Pixel

To connect Snapchat to Checkify, you need to find your Snap Pixel ID. Just go to:

  1. Go to Events Manager.

  2. Select Snap Pixel and click on Event Sources.

  3. Find Snap Pixel ID as shown on the picture below and copy it.

Now paste the Snap Pixel ID to the Checkify admin panel.

Checkify sends START_CHECKOUT and PURCHASE events to Snapchat Ads Manager. Transaction information like price, currency, transaction ID, and the checkout URL is being shared with Snapchat Ads Manager.

2. Connecting Conversions API

Snap’s Conversions API is a way to pass web, app, and offline events to the ad platform via a server-to-server integration. Snapchat lists multiple benefits of CAPI implementation, including stronger optimization, better targeting, optimized measurement, among others.

Checkify needs Conversions API token to get it running. Follow the steps below to get it:

  1. Log in to Snapchat Ads Manager and open Business Dashboard.

2. Once on the Business Details page, under the OAuth Apps section, you will find Conversions API Tokens section.

3. Click on the Generate Token button to get a new token.

4. Copy-paste Conversions API token into the corresponding field in the Integrations section in the Checkify admin panel and press "Connect+" button.

NOTE: If you work with a newly-created Snapchat account and generate a token there, it will not be operational with an immediate effect. It is necessary to wait a bit. Our recommendation is to take a 24-hour pause for all the newly-created Snap Ad accounts before connecting them to Checkify.

3. Checking integration and events

Snap has a Chrome extension that allows advertisers to verify and troubleshoot Snap Pixel implementations. You can learn more about it in the Snap Business Help Center. You can download the Snap Pixel Helper from Google Chrome Webstore.

To check if the Pixel collects all the events correctly, create a Checkify checkout on your store. Place a test order and check the extension for the "Payment completed" event. Click on the Snap Pixel Helper to get this information.

NOTE: There could be cases when you may not be able to see the Pixel and its events in the Snap Pixel Helper because of cookie blockers. Even if you do not have any specific extensions to block cookie files, your browser can still do that.

If Snap Pixel Helper has not detected a Pixel on your checkout page, try again using an Incognito tab. By doing so you will disable all possible cookie blockers. To check the Pixel in Incognito mode you need to enable usage of the Snap Pixel Helper in Incognito mode. Go to the extension settings to do so:

  1. Right-click on the Snap Pixel Helper icon in the bookmarks bar. Select "Manage Extensions". Or press the three vertical dots next to the icon of the extension to open "More options" menu and select "Manage extension".

3. Create a Checkify checkout with any product from your store in Incognito mode and check if the extension can track Snap Pixel.

4. Resolving common issues

🙀 My Snap Pixel works in the test mode, but I don't receive real events.

Unfortunately, some of your customers use browsers with cookie blockers, which affects the tracking quality for all pixels. It is advisable to activate a server-side integration (Conversions API) to send more data to the ad & marketing platform and enhance ads tracking efficiency. On Checkify, it can be done for Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat.
