Taboola is a truly powerful platform for a Shopify store to grab potential customers’ attention. Generate Leads from all around the web. Make sure your Leads convert.

In this article:

1. Setting up Taboola Pixel

To connect your Taboola Pixel to Checkify, find your Backstage Account ID. It's easy, it's listed in the URL (website address) of your Backstage account:

https://backstage.taboola.com/backstage/XXXXXX

So the 6-digit number at the end of the URL is your Backstage Account ID.

Alternatively, you can check it in the Backstage admin panel:

  1. Select the Tracking section on the top taskbar.

  2. Go to Taboola Pixel.

  3. Copy your Backstage Account ID.

Paste it into the corresponding field in the Checkify Admin Panel so that Checkify will be able to send сheckout_started and make_purchase events to Taboola Pixel.

2. Checking integration and events

To make sure Taboola Pixel is active on your checkout, you can install a browser extension that will show you the events and values Taboola Pixel collects — Taboola Pixel Helper.

  1. Install Taboola Pixel Helper on your browser (preferably Chrome).

  2. Create a Checkify checkout with any product from your store and check if the extension can track Taboola Pixel on the page.

  3. Place a test order and check the extension for the "Complete Payment" event.

Note that you may not be able to see the Pixel in the Taboola Pixel Helper because of cookie blockers. Even if you don't have any specific extensions to block cookie files, your browser still can do that.

If Taboola Pixel Helper can't track Pixel on your checkout page, try again using an incognito tab. In doing so, you will disable all possible cookie blockers. To check the Pixel in incognito mode, you need to enable using Taboola Pixel Helper in incognito mode. Go to the extension settings to do so. Here's how to do this in the Google Chrome browser:

  1. Right-click on the Taboola Pixel Helper icon in the bookmarks bar. Select "Manage Extensions". Or press the three vertical dots next to the icon of the extension to open "More options" menu and select "Manage extension".

  3. Create a Checkify checkout with any product from your store in an incognito mode and check if the extension can track Taboola Pixel.

3. Resolving common issues

🙀 My Taboola Pixel works in the test mode, but I don't receive real events.

Unfortunately, some of your customers use browsers with cookie blockers, which affect the tracking quality for all pixels. We are trying to use server-side integration for those platforms that support it: Facebook, TikTok are already covered.
